Daddy-Daughter Dance
Helped inform parents and neurodivergent children about an event.
Overview
Created promotional materials for the Autism Community Center's Daddy-Daughter Dance to inform parents about the event and encourage attendance.
Challenge
Create a design that could effectively communicate event information to parents while remaining engaging and approachable for children.
Reflect themes of happiness and unity without overstimulating potentially autistic children.
Improve the quality and usability of provided photography while maintaining clear readability and visual hierarchy.
Solution
Researched color considerations for neurodivergent audiences and built the design around muted, low-value colors.
Converted the photography to black and white to compensate for image quality issues.
Used blue and pinkish magenta to create a visual metaphor for the daddy-daughter theme, with the colors overlapping to form the brand's signature purple. Yellow adds balance, and when blended, produces the brand's secondary green, reinforcing harmony within the palette.
Developed a visual identity around circles to represent unity and the autism spectrum through variety and intersection, with the colors also forming the brand colors of ACN.
